Peter M. Glazer, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Glazer is a Professor and Chair of Therapeutic Radiology and Professor of Genetics at Yale University. He has been a leader in the field of targeted DNA repair, using sequence-specific DNA binding molecules and has received a number of research awards in recognition of his work including awards from the Radiation Research Society and the Leukemia Society of America. Dr. Glazer is the author of over 100 scientific papers and holds key targeted DNA repair patents.
Ranjit S. Bindra, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Bindra has made critical insights into the regulation of DNA repair gene expression in mammalian cells in Dr. Glazer's laboratory. He was awarded the 2004 Marie Curie Rising Young Investigator Award by the Radiation Research Society. Prior to coming to Yale, Dr. Bindra worked directly with former National Cancer Institute Director, Richard Klausner, on the molecular pathogenesis of hereditary cancer syndromes. He also obtained healthcare and pharmaceutical industry experience while at The Advisory Board in Washington, D.C.
Gerald F. Vovis, Ph.D.:
Dr. Vovis has served as Scientific Advisor to the CEO at Advanced BioHealing, Inc. since July 2008. Previously he was Vice President & General Manager since July 2006. From April 1999 through October 2005, Dr. Vovis was a senior executive with Genaissance Pharmaceuticals, Inc. most recently as Executive Vice President. He helped guide Genaissance through its key development stages to achieve a leadership position in pharmacogenomics. Previously, Dr. Vovis was Senior Vice President of Scientific Affairs at Genome Therapeutics. He has more than 28 years of experience in the genomics industry.
Kevin Rakin, M.B.A.
Mr Rakin has been actively involved in the biotechnology industry since 1990. He is currently CEO and Chairman of the Board of Advanced BioHealing, Inc., a biotechnology company focused on the development and marketing of cell-based and tissue-engineered products. Previously, he was co-founder, President & CEO of Genaissance Pharmaceuticals, Inc, a leading pharmacogenomics company. Mr Rakin serves on the boards of Vion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Ipsogen SAS. He is also an advisor to Canaan Partners and serves on the CEO's Council of Red Abbey Venture Partners. Mr. Rakin is past Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Connecticut United for Research Excellence and is a member of the state of Connecticut's Stem Cell Research Advisory Committee.
